Are you confused by modern philosophy and theology? This course can change your life by helping you to think clearly and correctly.
Brother Francis teaches the philosophy taught by Albertus Magnus, Bonaventure, Thomas Aquinas, and Duns Scotus -- otherwise known as Scholasticism, or Philosophia Perennis. He has a doctorate in Philosophy and has taught at the American University of Beirut, Holy Cross College, and Boston College. After entering religious life in 1949 he has continued to teach Philosophy to the religious of his community and to adults and high school students for over 40 years. One of his most well known students is the Jesuit theologian and Cardinal Avery Dulles. The six basic branches of philosophy are each considered a course; they are Logic, Cosmology, Psychology, Ethics, Epistemology, and Ontology. In addition, Brother presents two polemical courses on the history of philosophy. The first is a study of the ancient pagan philosophers, mainly the Greeks, and the other is a study of the errors of the modern philosophers. Each of the eight courses is explained in the Introduction set.
One of the most thrilling and valuable aspects of this course is that Br. Francis, in addition to being a brilliant teacher of "natural philosophy", is steeped in the wisdom which comes only from long and deep meditation upon the divinely revealed word of God in Holy Scripture which is the only source of true wisdom, the goal of all contemplation. It is important to take the courses in the order in which they are presented. We strongly recommend the Introduction first followed by Logic and Cosmology. All courses are available individually but you can save a lot of money by purchasing the entire set together. All courses are available in your choice of audiocassette or MP3 CD.
